Elisabeth Bell Digi Bells New Release

Elisabeth Bell has done it again. She created the adorable "Catch of the Day" digital stamp. This is the new release image for September. This image is based upon Elisabeth's beautiful daughter. I love these images they are fantastic to color and add so much interest to a card or project.

I used Fly a Kite DP from October Afternoon and PTI cardstock. I added acrylic accents, a ribbon, and a button. I wanted to keep my card simple so I could showcase this lovely image. I colored her with Copic markers.

I followed the Sweet Stop sketch for inspiration. I also followed the Digital Tuesday challenge of using dots and stripes.

Make sure you check out the Digi Bells blog. Also, did you know that Elisabeth Bell has a Facebook page. Both of these are great ways of keeping up with all the latest regarding Elisabeth Bell Digital Stamps and rubber stamps.

Inspiration Post and MelJen's Thursday Challenge

This week's challenge at MelJens is to make a "Back to School" card. The challenge is a fun way to play with MelJens images:)

I used MelJens image "Bunny Garden Fairy" and colored her with Copic Markers, for my inspiration card. I used DeLovely DP from Cosmo Cricket and cardstock from PTI.

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches, sketch challenge for inspiration. Additionally, I participated in the Digital Tuesday Challenge of using dots and stripes.

Make sure you check out all the wonderful creations by the DT using these images! You can purchase these fabulous images and others from MelJen's Designs at the Whimsy Site.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge

The Pixie Dust Studio Challenge this week is to use black and white and one other color. Do you remember the riddle, "what is black and white and read all over"? This riddle was inspiration for my bookmark. I chose the Harry Potter image. I colored my image with Copic Markers. I used DP from DCW and PTI cardstock. I added some flourish die cuts, a button, ribbon and dimentionals. I used the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches to inspire my card. I also participated in the Crazy4Challenges site of making something that is book related. Also, I used the Digital Tuesday Challenge of using dots and stripes. Make sure to check out all of the other DT members for inspiration. I cannot wait to see what you make for the challenge! You would be amazed what a little magic and pixie dust will do!

My Queen Quilt and Pillows

I have to say I have never been more proud of myself. I got the courage to make a queen quilt and all the accompanying pillows. I took a class for the quilt and chose patterns for the pillows. I even had to put in a zipper. I designed the european pillow shams from the Pottery Barn ones that had been on my bed before. They even have three ties to hold them all together. The only thing I have left to do is make a couple of accent pillows for two chairs in our master bedroom. The materials are from Michael Miller.

Confession time... when I was in HS my Mom made my final exam project for Home Ec. I was hopeless with a sewing machine. This time I sewed everything by myself. I amazed myself and learned so much. I can't wait to get started on a quilt for my daughter's bedroom.
