Prarie Fairy Friday Challenge

The Prairie Fairy Challenge this week is to use something you have recycled in your project, layout or card. I used a box that I purchased embellishments in and I also made my flower out of canvas I had used for another project. I made this box to hold some Linsor Truffles and a gift card for my Mom for Mother's Day. My image is called "Hand in Hand" and it is colored with Copic markers. I added lots of ink for distressing, lace, pearls, hand stitching and machine stitching to give this project a more vintage feel. Make sure you check out all the DT members and see their take on this challenge:) Also, make sure you stop into to the store and see all the wonderful digital stamps Prairie Fairy has to offer.

Shirleys2Girls Twisted Thursday

It's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge from Shirleys2Girls. The twist this week is to use the the word "Welcome" on your card, layout or project. I used the adorable Beehive image. I used DP from American Crafts and cardstock from PTI. I used a border punch from Martha Stewart, ribbon, and I added Prima flowers with PTI buttons. I added an abundance of machine stitching. I colored my image with my Copics. I used The 2Sketches4U sketch for inspiration. I also participated in the Simply Scrapping and Crafts Stamp it Challenge by matting each of my layers on brown or black paper.

Pixie Dust Studio Thursday Challenge

The Pixie Dust Studio Challenge this week is to be "Krafty". You must kraft paper on your image. I chose Wink from the On the Prairie new release. I colored my image with Copic Markers. MelJen's Sock Monkey

I know you can tell how much I love dogs. But, one thing you did not know about me is I love monkeys and apes. I did many graduate and undergrad projects and research in Animal Behavior. I wanted to be the next "Jane Goodall". It was my dream. One of my favorite things I have ever done was to go to the Primate Center in Washington and get to visit Washoe, the chimpanze who was trained to talk in sign language. I met all of her "friends" and her adopted son Loulis signed to me and told me he wanted to see my shoes. He loves shoes and I have to say he has good taste:) They were rescued and are living out their lives in leisure and retirement instead of going into research.

My card is a wonderful sock monkey image by MelJen's Designs. She is a fantastic artist and has a new release of her digital stamps weekly. I have so much fun with her images. Every Monday she has a freebie. If you have not checked them out, do so, you won't be disappointed. I colored my image with Copics. I used Crate DP and PTI cardstock. I sewed my ribbon into a box pleat, wouldn't my mom be proud:) I also added lots of machine stitching for color and texture. I made this card for my daughter! I used the 2sketches4U sketch for inspiration.

Simply Scrapping and Crafts Stamp it Challenge

The Stamp it Challenge at Simply Scrapping and Crafts is to make a card with as many layers and DP as you want but each layer needs to have a black or brown frame. I use the wonderful Pixie Dust Studio image called "Sparkle Edward". Oh how I love Twilight. Honestly, I am a Team Jacob girl and I am so happy that his is over 18 now so I don't feel like a dirty old lady each time I sigh when he takes off his shirt. I am digressing......

I made this card using DP from American Crafts. I added red accents with machine stitching and red drop stickers. The stickers were to sybolized blood:) I colored my image with Copic Markers and used the 2Sketches4U sketch for inspiration.

Pixie Dust Studio New Release "On the Prairie"

It's time for the new relase from Pixie Dust Studios!. The release is called "On the Prairie".

I chose the little Prairie Fairy new release image to create a card. I colored my image with Copic Markers. I used Crate design paper and PTI cardstock. I added machine stitching for definition. I made my cards more rustic and this style is out of my comfort zone. I Added some canvas and distressed it. Most of the papers are distressed and inked.

I participated in the Card Patterns challenge and used their sketch for inspiration for my card.

Make sure to take a look at the Pixie Dust Studio Blog and take a look at all the wonderful images in the store. Also, make sure to visit the rest of the DT to see what they created. I want to extend a warm welcome to some new DT members who have joined the Pixie Dust Studios: Beth
